Staying safe during online lessons

Online lessons on MusicStudio take place via video call from your own home, which is inherently a safer environment than travelling to an unknown location. That said, a few straightforward guidelines help make the experience safe and comfortable for everyone.

Keep the session within the platform

All lessons should take place through the MusicStudio lesson room, not via external video call tools (FaceTime, Zoom, WhatsApp, etc.). Staying within the platform ensures your lesson is supported by our systems and covered by our policies.

Protect your personal information

There is no reason to share your home address, personal phone number, or social media accounts with a teacher through MusicStudio. All communication can and should take place through the platform's messaging system.

Parents: be nearby for younger students

For students under 18, we recommend that a parent or guardian is in the same room or nearby during lessons. This is good general practice for any online activity involving children.

Trust your instincts

If anything during a lesson feels wrong, inappropriate, or makes you uncomfortable, end the video call. You are in full control — simply close the browser tab. After ending the call, please report the incident to MusicStudio support as soon as possible.

Reporting
