These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the MusicStudio platform ("Platform") operated by MusicStudio ("we", "us", "our"). By registering or using the Platform you agree to these Terms.
MusicStudio is a marketplace that connects independent music teachers ("Teachers") with students and their parents or guardians ("Students"). MusicStudio facilitates bookings and payments but does not itself provide tuition. Each Teacher is an independent professional and the supplier of the lesson. MusicStudio is not the employer of any Teacher.
When MusicStudio collects payment for a lesson, it does so as the Teacher's disclosed agent. The Teacher is the principal and the supplier of the tuition; MusicStudio acts only as an intermediary that facilitates the booking, takes payment on the Teacher's behalf, and deducts its service fee. The contract for the lesson itself is between you and the Teacher.
To create an account, make bookings, or accept payment on the Platform you must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a legally binding contract. A parent or guardian aged 18 or over may create an account and book lessons on behalf of a child under 18, and remains responsible for that child's use of the Platform. Teachers must be at least 18 years old. By registering you confirm that you meet these requirements.
All Teachers are manually reviewed by MusicStudio before their profile is made public. Our review considers profile completeness, a short video introduction, and identity documentation. Approval is not a guarantee of teaching quality and does not constitute an endorsement of a Teacher for any particular purpose.
Lesson payments are processed securely through Stripe. Lessons are available in two lengths: a 50-minute lesson at the Teacher's standard rate, and a 25-minute lesson at half that rate.
Your first lesson with any Teacher is an introductory lesson: it lasts 25 minutes and costs half the Teacher's usual 25-minute price. It is available once per Teacher.
Cancelling a lesson. More than 24 hours before the lesson, you receive a full refund. Between 6 and 24 hours before, you receive 50%. Less than 6 hours before, the lesson is not refundable — the Teacher has held that time for you and is paid for it.
Refunds go back to the card you paid with, not to account credit, and we do this automatically. If you would rather have the money as MusicStudio credit you can ask us, but we will never make that choice for you.
Where a Teacher cancels, or where a fault on our side prevents the lesson going ahead, you receive everything back — see section 7.
Account credit, where you hold any, is applied automatically at your next checkout. Credit you paid for — including a gift card — never expires. Free credit we have given you, such as a referral reward, expires 90 days after it is issued.
Lessons take place via the MusicStudio video platform in your browser — no software download is required. With your consent, lessons may be recorded. Recordings are available to the student and teacher for 30 days and are then permanently deleted from our servers.
MusicStudio welcomes Students of all ages. Parents and guardians may book lessons on behalf of children.
Important — please read carefully if booking for anyone under 18:
The Platform is provided on an "as available" basis. While we work to keep it running reliably, we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at any particular time. Lessons depend on services outside our control — including your internet connection, your device, your browser, and third-party video, payment and email providers.
Where a lesson does not take place, or is not completed, the outcome depends on the cause. We determine the cause from the Platform's own connection and activity records, not from either party's account alone.

Determinations and appeals
Nothing in this section limits a Student's statutory rights as a consumer, or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. As between MusicStudio and a Teacher acting in the course of a business, neither party is liable to the other for loss of earnings, loss of opportunity, or other indirect or consequential loss arising from a technical failure, beyond the amounts set out above.
We may suspend access to the Platform, at any time and without notice, for maintenance, security, or to protect users. Where a scheduled lesson is affected, the outcomes above apply.
You must not use the Platform to engage in any conduct that is unlawful, harmful, or offensive. Teachers and Students are expected to treat each other with respect. MusicStudio may suspend or remove any account that breaches these standards.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MusicStudio is not liable for the actions, omissions, or conduct of any Teacher or Student. MusicStudio's total liability for any claim arising out of or in connection with the Platform shall not exceed the total fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland.
If you are a consumer: this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of any mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which you are habitually resident. You may bring proceedings against us either in Ireland or in the courts of your country of residence, and we will bring any proceedings against you only in the courts of your country of residence.
If you are a Teacher, or otherwise acting in the course of a business: the courts of Ireland have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms.
Nothing in this section prevents either of us from seeking urgent injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.
