Safeguarding on MusicStudio
The safety and wellbeing of all users — particularly younger students — is a priority for MusicStudio. This article sets out the key safeguarding principles that apply to lessons on our platform.
For parents
- All lessons take place online via video call — no teacher visits your home and no one enters your space.
- For students under 18, we recommend a parent or guardian be present in the same room or nearby during lessons.
- MusicStudio teachers should not request your child's personal contact details (phone number, social media, personal email). All communication should be through the platform.
- If anything during a lesson concerns you, end the call immediately and contact support@musicstudio.com.
For teachers
- Do not request personal contact details from students or parents outside the MusicStudio platform.
- Do not conduct lessons via external channels (personal WhatsApp, personal Zoom, etc.) — all lessons must take place through MusicStudio.
- If a student discloses something that raises a safeguarding concern during a lesson, follow the appropriate procedures in your jurisdiction and report to MusicStudio support.
- Teachers working with children may be required to hold relevant vetting checks — for example, Garda vetting in Ireland or a DBS check in the UK. MusicStudio strongly advises compliance with local legal requirements for those teaching minors.
This is a general guide. See MusicStudio's Safeguarding Policy for full details.
