Getting started as a teacher
Teaching on MusicStudio takes three steps: create your teacher account, set up your profile, and wait for our team to review it.
Step 1 — Create your teacher account
Go to the teacher sign-up page and sign up with your email address or with Google. You must be 18 or over, and you will be asked to confirm that and to accept the Teacher Agreement. You are then taken straight into profile setup. We also send you an email asking you to confirm your address.
Step 2 — Set up your profile
Setup is in two parts, and you can save as you go and come back later.
Your Profile
- About — your name, the instruments, styles and levels you teach
- Photo — a clear profile photo
- Description — how you teach and who your lessons suit
- Video — a short introduction video (strongly recommended)
Teaching Details
- Qualifications — your musical and teaching qualifications
- Experience — your teaching background
- Availability — the days and times you teach
- Pricing — your price for a 50-minute lesson
When you finish, you will see a confirmation screen and then your dashboard. We do not ask for identity documents, tax details or bank details at this stage.
Step 3 — Review and approval
Our team checks every profile before it is made public, and we email you as soon as yours has been reviewed. Until then your profile is not public and cannot be booked. You can keep editing it from your dashboard in the meantime.
After you are approved
Your profile becomes public. To be paid you then complete two things from your profile: your tax details (the Tax Details tab) and your Stripe account (the Payout Details tab), where Stripe checks your identity and takes your bank details. See How teacher payments work.
We are opening MusicStudio to teachers before students, so you may not receive bookings straight away. Your dashboard shows when students can start booking.
